April 9, 2013. Tuesday. Holiday. 7 P.M I
just woke up from 2 hours nap. I can almost feel every strand of my muscles, aching.
I got home at 4.30 this afternoon from trekking, up in Mount Pinatubo’s Crater
Lake. My next post should be the general knowledge about this very active
Volcano in the Philippines.
I trekked with 8 more girls all from
work. Thank you to the President for letting us use the company van. Then off we
traveled 2-3 hours from the big city to the pick-up point where off-road 4x4
vehicles were waiting. And being in it for an hour, we bumped here and hit
there and to each other and to ourselves. With my guts half-fastened victoriously,
I took some photos along the way – with tons of volcanic ashes and stones. We
crossed mini rivers, muds here and there and gathered dusts on ourselves. A
hellova ride – and worth every bit of it! I loved the rides and the scenery
extremely and majestically formed by the volcano itself. Then, we hiked to its
crater for about 20 minutes and spent for a couple of hours or so. Swimming is
no longer recommended as the level of hazardous substances is very
unpredictable. Early this year, a hiker died from diving into a deep section of
the crater and after which, a warning was issued by the Department of Tourism,
prohibiting any water activities in the Crater Lake. So, we relaxed, had
refreshments and admired in full 180 degrees view of the beautiful scenery with
God knows what’s happening right underneath. With enough satisfaction and
exhaustion, we hiked back for our rollercoaster ride to gather more dusts and
incur more pains.
It was a day trip that took my breath
away, and some dusts away into my lungs LOL. And, oh, my butt is a bit painful
too from bouncing for two hours altogether! Hahaha! Tomorrow I’m back to work
and hopefully, though I doubt, my full strength is back. I’m back in one piece
bloggers! ^__^.
